“My philosophy is rooted in simplicity. Rather than focusing on details for their own sake, I seek out what is essential and inherently elegant.”

Inspired by many sources, from Tàpies to the Mediterranean light of its beaches, Antonia Ferrer’s philosophy focuses on simplicity, reducing her work to the most essential elements. Her work is represented by Galería Alzueta, one of the most prestigious galleries based in Paris, Barcelona and Madrid.

Her paintings blur the line between sculpture and painting, using primitive materials and gestural techniques to create textured surfaces that explore the interaction between light, shadow, and colour. Likewise, her approach is deeply minimalist: she first builds a textured base before applying a wash of colour to see how it interacts with the surface. This process, reminiscent of the ebb and flow of nature, reflects her deep connection with the sea, which serves as a constant inspiration in her work.
