Asymmetric tops

The asymmetric top breaks with regular geometry to build garments with their own movement. It is a proposal for those who want to add a distinctive touch to the wardrobe foundation, without renouncing the sobriety that characterises Massimo Dutti.

Asymmetries are worked in various ways. Some models play with the off-shoulder neckline, leaving the other shoulder bare or with a fine strap. Others propose diagonal hems, with one side longer than the other, which adds dynamism to the silhouette. You will also find versions with crossover front, side draping or a single visible strap. The long asymmetric tops bring more fluid drape and are particularly flattering to the silhouette.

The chosen fabrics enhance the effect of the cut. Viscose and lightweight satins generate fluid drape that accentuates the diagonal hems. Fine knit adapts to the body while respecting the irregular line. Elastic cotton brings structure for the more urban proposals. Each construction takes care of the edge finishes so that the cut is perceived as intentional, not improvised. The palette includes black, a recurring base for evening looks, alongside neutral tones, colour proposals and seasonal variants.

The asymmetric top works very well in evening mode combined with tailored trousers or a pencil skirt and heeled shoes. But it also admits more relaxed readings with straight jeans and flat trainers, where the cut adds the detail without need for additional accessories.
